Science
Ms. Sharon teaches a very hands on science including the study of: rocks, plants,
animals, weather and space using a multi-sensory approach to learning.
Language Arts
Students will learn sight words and spelling rules as well as learning how to use a
dictionary, table of contents and index. The students will also work on recognition of
nouns, verbs, adjectives, and pronouns in sentences and creative writing.
Social Studies
There will be studies on basic map skills, continents and oceans, as well as Native
Americans.
Math
Students will cover skip counting 7’s, 8’s and 9’s, place value, money, and types of lines.
Art
The students will learn the basic principles of art and design incorporated through
lessons by using a variety of materials and hands on projects.
The 2nd grade class will have time to play outside each week. You may want to send a
backpack for your child to carry papers home.
NOTE: There is a one-time $20 workbook & art fee for this class.
