Science with Sharon Matheny
Ms. Sharon teaches a very hands on science including the study of: rocks,
plants, animals, weather and space using a multi-sensory approach to
learning.
Language Arts
Students will practice long vowels, consonant blends, digraphs, silent e,
doubled consonants, diphthongs, and other vowel combinations.
Students will learn spelling rules and will also work on recognition of nouns,
verbs, adjectives, and pronouns in sentences and creative writing.
Social Studies
History Pockets will be used to learn about famous explorers of North
America and complete exciting hands-on projects. Students will also learn
map reading skills and world geography.
Math
Students will cover multiplication tables: 0’s-6’s, telling time, and counting
money using fun games and interaction.
Art with JoAnn Woodland
The students will learn the basic principles of art and design incorporated
through lessons by using a variety of materials and hands on projects.
Spanish Time 1 with Monica Johnson
The focus of this class is to introduce children to the Spanish language by
teaching them vocabulary on several topics. Children will learn songs and
games to help them remember vocabulary.
The 3rd grade class will have recess each week. You may want to send a
backpack for carrying papers home.
NOTE: There is a one-time $20 workbook and art fee.
