Science with Sharon Matheny
Ms. Sharon teaches a very hands on science including the study of: rocks,
plants, animals, weather and space using a multi-sensory approach to
learning.
Language Arts
Students will learn spelling rules, recognition and use of eight parts of
speech, creative writing, and classic literature (two books per year as a
class).
Government
We will learn about the basics of how our government is run including
branches of government. Time will be spent discussing the election
process and much more.
Art
The students will learn the basic principles of art and design incorporated
through lessons by using a variety of materials and hands on projects.
Spanish Time 2
Although in the 4th grade we will review topics we covered in Spanish
Time 1, the emphasis of this class would be on learning new vocabulary.
This class will expose students to concepts they are already familiar with in
English, by teaching them vocabulary on several topics. This class will also
introduce children to some traditional Spanish children's songs.
The 4th grade class will have recess each week as well. You may want to
send a backpack for carrying papers home.
NOTE: There is a one-time $10 art fee for this class.
