Language Arts
Students will learn spelling rules, parts of speech, creative writing, classic
literature (two books per year as a class).
Government
We will learn about the basics of how government is run including
branches of government. Time will be spent discussing the election
process and much more.
Exchange City
This class includes personal money management and budgeting as well
as critical thinking skills through the use of puzzles and games.
Art
The students will learn the basic principles of art and design incorporated
through lessons by using a variety of materials and hands on projects.
Viva el Espanol 1
This Spanish class introduces student to writing and reading basic
sentences using vocabulary that has been mostly learned in the 3rd and
4th grade class. We will also work on skits, learning new vocabulary.
We will move from one topic to the next as material presented is
mastered by the majority in the class. How much we cover will depend on
how fast your children learn the topics introduced.
The 5th grade class will have recess each week also. You may want to
send a backpack for carrying papers home.
There is a one-time $40 fee for this class for art supplies and Exchange City.
