Bellevue Home School Enrichment and Tutorials
Dear Home School Parents,

As the Executive Director of Bellevue Home School Enrichment & Tutorials it is an honor to organize these
classes.  It is our goal to make these classes affordable, academically sound, enriching and most importantly
Christ-centered.

Each Monday your children will have a full day of learning coupled with an opportunity to socialize with other
home schooled children.  This is designed to allow the primary home school parent a day for preparation,
doctors’ appointments, or simply a quiet day to regroup.  We ask that each family volunteer for two things during
the school year.

Please read this website thoroughly.  I am open to your suggestions and want to have your input.

Sincerely,

Lavonne Redferrin
Executive Director

Statement of Faith

We believe that the Bible is the verbally-inspired Word of God - the final authority for faith and life.  It is  infallible and
God-breathed.  Our purpose is to glorify God in the areas of our physical environment,  service, and in relationships
with those around us.  Our goals are to teach our children by example to  live a Christian life, to achieve quality
academic learning, and to instill the value of family.  The children  are encouraged to aspire to the maturity of fellow
Christians older than themselves, while at the same  time find opportunity to be responsible for others who are younger
than themselves.

“Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.”  Prov. 22:6

Because God has placed the responsibility for teaching our children with parents, we the BHSE Board,  find it
necessary to operate our program in which the teacher, curriculum, and environment are in  accord with Biblical
principles.  Therefore, we do hereby establish the following bylaws (policies) to  govern our enrichment program.

Who is BHSE?

BHSE is a Christian organization dedicated to promoting home schooling. The Board of Directors  governs BHSE,
while an Executive Director, a Financial Operations Manager, a secretary, teachers,  and several much-needed
volunteers run BHSE.

BHSE is a group of parents pooling our resources in order to teach our children in a wide variety of  academic
subjects. BHSE is neither a school nor a model of classical home schooling. These classes  meet only one day a
week and are not intended to teach all that the students need to learn.  BHSE is  NOT an umbrella school.  BHSE
admits students of any race, color, and national or ethnic origin. This  group does  reserve the right, however, to
discriminate with regards to religious belief.

When these classes were first organized, a dedicated core of families shared the vision that they could  be unified in
academic pursuits for their children and in their shared Christian faith. These families  wanted a group where each
person’s personal faith in Christ would be affirmed and they believed that  devotion to God should enhance not hinder
the pursuit of academic excellence. Faith and intellect are  not mutually exclusive. Teaching students to think clearly
and to discern truth remains a primary concern.  The goal of BHSE is for students to participate in a stimulating
academic and social atmosphere.  BHSE expects kindness and acceptance to be practiced and will address any
lapses immediately. Our  primary vehicle is the weekly Enrichment Program, but we also encourage participation in the
Bellevue  Home School Association Support Group and Field Trips, as well as the annual MTHEA
Conference/Curriculum Fair.

Continue to pray for a clear vision for those who make the decisions for this group, for a unifying spirit to  help us
minimize differences, and for God’s abundant blessing on our shared labor.

The BHSE Board of Directors, which consist of Gary and Joy Alms, Lavonne Redferrin, Brenda  Thurman, Tammy
Dructor, Craig and Sophia Hansen, Amy Whitehead, Tina Bean, and Janelle Sterrett,  has established the following
policies. This group together represents every grade level being taught in  our program. It includes a veteran teacher,
a new teacher, and a non-teaching parent along with some  of their husbands as well as others. It is the board’s
responsibility to make and uphold all policies. They  can be reached at the BHSE website, www.enrichmentBHSE.com
