Constitution of Bellevue Home School Enrichment Program

Article I: Responsibilities of the Board of Directors

Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and
hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. Col 3:16

Section I: The board shall be alert to the program’s needs and problems, and promote and provide for
good parent-teacher relations.  It shall resolve problems that hinder a proper functioning of the program.
Section II: The board shall resolve any ongoing discipline problems or other unresolved problems.
Section III: The board shall approve classroom standards, policies, and procedures.

Article II: Responsibilities of the Executive Director

Section I:
The director and staff places all advertising pertaining to BHSE classes.
Section II: The director is responsible for setting and guiding the vision of the Enrichment Program and
reports to the Board of Directors.
Section III: The director will hire, oversee and coordinate the Financial Operations Manager, Teachers and
Volunteers, and Custodial Staff.
Section IV: The director and staff are responsible for enrollment, determining and establishing classes and
class schedules, approving student curriculum, giving teachers insight and vision, and assuring that BHSE
operates according to the Statement of Faith.
Section V: The director shall communicate with Pegram Church of Christ on an ongoing basis.
Section VI: The director is responsible for proposing the BHSE budget for approval by the board and
operating the program within the approved budget.
Section VII: The director is responsible for and has the authority to pay all BHSE expenses in accordance
with the approved budget.

Article III: Responsibilities of the Financial Operations Manager (FOM)

Section I
: The FOM shall collect funds payable to BHSE for registration, tuition, and miscellaneous fees (lab
fees, etc.)
Section II: The FOM will maintain accurate records of monies received and disbursed.
Section III: The FOM has the authority to pay all BHSE expenses in accordance with the approved budget.
Section IV: The FOM will present reports of monetary receipts and disbursements to the Board of Directors
at each meeting.

Article IV: Responsibilities of the BHSE Secretary

Section I:
Create and maintain student files.
Section II: At beginning of school, make sure all students have signed a statement saying they have read
the BHSE Policies and place in student files.

Article V: Responsibilities of Teachers

“And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works.” Hebrews 10:24

Section I: The teacher shall teach curriculum approved by the Executive Director.
Section II: The teacher shall agree to and adhere to the Statement of Faith.
Section III: The teacher shall maintain order and respect in the classroom and on the church premises and
is authorized to administer discipline as set forth in the BHSE Policies.
Section IV: The teacher shall work closely with the parents and shall report any unresolved problems to the
Director.

Article VI: Responsibilities of the Parents

“Train up a child in the way he should go,
And when he is old he will not depart from it.” Prov. 22:6

Section I: Parents sending their children to Bellevue Home School Enrichment Programs shall uphold and
support the Statement of Faith and this constitution.
Section II: The parents shall by word and action display right attitudes toward the teachers, Board of
Directors, and the learning process.  This is also shown by taking an active interest in the children’s
classwork.
Section III: The parents shall cooperate with the teacher(s) to establish good behavior and maintain order
in the classroom and on the church premises.
Section IV: Parents shall see that their children attend classes regularly, that they be there on time, and
that they be there for the entire day.  
Section V: The parents shall address any class problems with the teacher directly involved rather than the
children.

Article VII: The Responsibilities of the Children

“My son, hear the instruction of your father,
And do not forsake the law of your mother.” Prov. 1:8

“Teach me, and I will hold my tongue;
Cause me to understand wherein I have erred.” Job 6:24

“He who keeps instruction is in the way of life,
But he who refuses correction goes astray.” Prov. 10:17

Section I: The children shall strive to do their best.
Section II: The children shall show a spirit of cooperation and an attitude of respect and submission to their
teacher and the rules and standards of BHSE.
Section III: The children shall come to class prepared with appropriate supplies and willingness to
participate.
